All NLRB charges filed by CBN against UFCW 555 Withdrawn or Dismissed

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 17, 2022

Gresham, Oregon – On June 15th, UFCW Local 555 received notice that two charges filed
against the union by CBN Holdings have been dismissed, and CBN Holdings has withdrawn a
third. These charges were related to the ongoing strike and boycott of CBN Holdings for workers
at CBN’s Gresham cannabis grow facility. Workers at the grow facility walked off the job on May
2, 2022, in a strike for recognition of their union.

Investigations done by the NLRB have established that the picketing at retail stores, as well as
at the grow site, are both lawful and orderly. CBN Holdings has also withdrawn charges that the
union is engaging in picketing for recognition of a group of workers that should be covered
under the NLRA, because agricultural workers are exempt under the law.

“These charges should never have been filed with the NLRB in the first place. As we have said
from the beginning, there is no agency for agricultural workers. CBN Holdings has chosen to
waste the NLRB’s time with complaints that they have no jurisdiction over. The dismissal of
charges by the NLRB states that we are well within our rights to picket CBN stores that sell the
products made at the grow site. We call on CBN to recognize the Union and get to the
bargaining table. The sooner we get to the table, the sooner this boycott and strike can end,”
said Dan Clay, UFCW Local 555 Union President.

For your reference, the NLRB Case numbers are 19-CC-296071, 19-CB-296069, and 19-CP-296072
