On November 17th and 18th, your Negotiations Committee held our fifth session for Safeway and Albertsons members. Joining the table at this session and moving forward are members from Sherm’s and Rosauers.
Your Union Negotiations Committee presented the employers with proposals that, among other things, would increase your access to sick leave, standardize health and welfare throughout the jurisdiction, and provide significant wage increases to Journeypersons and Apprentices in all positions.
While your employers and your Union are very far apart on what is deemed an acceptable wage increase, your employers were open to standardizing health and welfare qualifying language, and eliminating other language made irrelevant by new agreements.
We next meet with the employer representatives for Safeway and Albertsons on December 13th and 14th.
