Healthcare & Retirement Benefits

Your healthcare and retirement benefits have been negotiated on your behalf to help you and your family access high-quality medical care and save for the future. Fully understanding your benefits is the best way to ensure you’re taking advantage of the valuable benefits ensured in your union contract.

Scholarships

Full, active UFCW members and qualified dependents are eligible for consideration for a variety of scholarships: Northwest Hope FoundationL. Walt Derry, and UFCW Charity Foundation Scholarships. Deadlines are in May, each year.

Language Learning

UFCW members also have the opportunity to learn English, Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin, online for free! The platform is self-guided, meaning that you take it at your own pace.

Get Your GED

UFCW members can now take General Equivalency Diploma (GED) classes for free through Essential GED. To get started, just complete the relevant inquiry form.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Coverage

As a UFCW Local 555 member, you automatically receive AD&D (Accidental Death & Dismemberment) coverage from American Income Life.

You do not need to do anything to receive this coverage. However, if you wish to receive a free Child Safe kit, designate your beneficiary, or receive more information on other available offerings from AIL, such as strike and layoff waiver of premium, go to mybenefits.ailife.com and enter code sgdo2. Once you do so, you will be contacted by an AIL representative to provide you with more information. You are not obligated to purchase anything in order to receive your automatic AD&D coverage.
