Bargaining Update – Idaho Albertsons: Employer Delays Response on Wages

Bargaining Update - Idaho Albertsons: Employer Delays Response on Wages

On April 3rd and April 4th, your Bargaining Committee held our fourth bargaining session with the company.

Progress at the bargaining table has been slow. We have made no progress on reaching any additional agreements since the last session, even though many of our proposals don’t cost the company a dime! Albertsons still has not responded to the wage proposal that we presented over a month ago.

Boise, Nampa, Idaho Falls, Ammon, Pocatello, and Ontario, Oregon are all currently expired. In May, Caldwell and Jackson, Wyoming will also be expiring.

This delay is unacceptable and shows a lack of respect for our members. Our proposals are critical to providing fair wages, affordable healthcare, and secure retirement for our members working from Ontario, Oregon, throughout Idaho, all the way to Jackson, Wyoming.

We are not asking for special treatment – we are demanding basic respect and a recognition of our role in the company’s success. We will not be left behind!

Our next bargaining session is scheduled for May 15th and May 16th.

It has never been more critical for us to show Albertsons that we are serious about doing what it takes to get a fair, sustainable contract that allows us to live in the communities we serve.
