Kaiser Permanente Imaging workers to walk out tomorrow Morning

Kaiser Permanente Imaging Workers to Walk out Tomorrow Morning. UFCW 555 members working under the Imaging Services contract will join pharmacy technicians and clerks on the ULP strike line.

Oregon & SW Washington – UFCW 555 members working under the Imaging Services contract will join pharmacy technicians and clerks on the ULP strike line tomorrow morning, as previous bargaining sessions have yet to yield a Tentative Agreement. While UFCW 555 is not discouraging patients from seeking care, Kaiser Permanente patients may experience delays or cancellations of appointments as Kaiser struggles to find qualified and licensed replacement professionals. This also comes at a time when Kaiser has dropped to 3.5 stars from 5 stars as a medicare provider due to quality of care.

“Nothing happens at a hospital without imaging technicians. These professionals include X-ray, Mammography, MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine, EEG, Cardiovascular lab, Special Procedures Technologists, Sonographers, Dosimetrists, Radiation Therapists, and Imaging Assistants. Every part of their operation will be impacted.” Miles Eshaia – Communications Coordinator, UFCW Local 555.

The Imaging ULP strike will begin on Wednesday, November 1st at 6:00am and will end on Saturday, November 18th at 3:00pm.

These ULP strikes are to deal with unfair labor practices. Bargaining is ongoing, with the next session scheduled for Wednesday, November 1st, when imaging technologists are set to join the ULP strike.
