555’s Bipartisan List of Labor Allies on the Ballot
As Veterans, we are respectfully requesting Northwest Permanente and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan fully honor Veterans in allowing military Veterans a paid holiday on Veterans Day.
Veterans Day is a federal holiday designated to recognize and honor U.S. military personnel and their service. Currently, Veterans Day is not a paid holiday at Northwest Permanente and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan.
We recognize that Kaiser Permanente has a long history of hiring Veterans and created many military-friendly programs to support our Veterans and their spouses. Kaiser Permanente is recognized as 2024 Military Friendly Employer. This marks the ninth year in a row that Kaiser has received the title. Military Friendly Employers provide highly-rated opportunities for veterans and their spouses. They have hiring, retention, and employee development programs to help people reach their goals. VIQTORY, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business, gave the designation to 426 employers for 2024. Of those, Kaiser ranked among the top 5 health and pharmaceutical services organizations.
Allowing military Veterans a paid day off on Veterans Day continues Kaiser Permanente’s longstanding history of supporting Veterans and would allow the organization to fully recognize and honor those who have served our country.
Furthermore, please note that Kaiser Permanente Hawaii region is closed in observance of Veterans Day allowing all of its employees, not just its Veterans, a day off on Veterans Day.
