Votes for the UFCW 555 Election were officially collected, counted, and certified on Monday, August 17, in accord with UFCW Local 555 Bylaws and the International Constitution.
The Union conducted an election by mail for the offices of President, Secretary-Treasurer, Recorder, and all fifteen Vice President (Executive Board) positions. Voters decided to support the continued leadership of President Dan Clay and his administration by electing him and his entire slate with a clear majority.
Dan and Sandy’s team includes members across the Union’s entire jurisdiction – dedicated members who have won victories at the negotiation table improving the lives of our members wherever they live. The team includes members from every state we represent and nearly every Union-represented industry, including retail, meat trades, health care, and even our own Trust Administrator. Voters elected to return our excellent team to the negotiation table in 2027 to carry on the fight for better hours, higher wages, and stronger benefits in your next contract.
Whether or not you voted to keep Dan, Sandy, and their team running our Union, you are still a valuable and valued member of this Union. The divisiveness that can come with a contested election is behind us. We are looking to the future. Over 90% of UFCW 555 members’ contracts are up for negotiations next year. Negotiations are a fight. A fight to preserve what we have, a fight to build on our past successes, a fight to better our members’ lives and livelihoods. We appreciate the trust you have again placed in us to lead the fight. Together we are stronger, and together we will win.
