On Wednesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 20, your Bargaining Committee met for the second bargaining session for your Union contract for all members working at Bay Area hospital.
During our second session we made further progress forward. We now have Tentative Agreements in more key areas, including:
- Stronger Grievance and Arbitration procedures to ensure a fair and effective process for resolving workplace disputes.
- Reinforced Seniority Rights to protect and recognize the dedication and experience of employees’ time at the Hospital.
We are currently waiting on responses from the employer on several key areas, including Professional Development, Wages and Differentials, Retirement benefits improvements, Improvements to Paid Time Off (PTO), and new language to protect your current jobs related to outsourcing and protecting the Collective Bargaining Agreement in case the Hospital sells.
Bay Area Hospital workers play a vital role in delivering essential healthcare services to Coos Bay, North Bend, and the rest of the surrounding community. Your dedication and hard work are the backbone of the hospital’s operations. Your Bargaining Committee will continue to fight for better wages, comprehensive benefits, and safe working conditions that enable you to provide the best possible care to your patients. We will continue to keep you informed of our progress and seek your input throughout the negotiations.
Our next bargaining sessions are scheduled on April 8 through April 10. We will update you after the completion of our next bargaining session.
