Imperfect Foods Workers have voted in the Union

Tigard, Oregon – Workers at Imperfect Foods have officially Unionized. This comes after a months-long campaign to organize workers at Imperfect Foods around better benefits, stronger pay, and a voice in the workplace.

“After months of anti-union efforts by the company, workers at Imperfect Foods have joined together to Unionize. In organizing with UFCW Local 555, these workers will have access to decades of experience in contract negotiations, as well as the support of 30,000 union members throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. They will join the 1.3 million UFCW workers across North America. We are the food workers’ Union, and we are proud to welcome workers at Imperfect Foods to our Union family.” – Dan Clay, UFCW Local 555 Union President

“We’re looking forward to negotiating a union contract that will address issues like safety, unevenly assigned delivery routes, and create a fair wage scale with guaranteed increases. The value that delivery drivers have brought to this company, turning it from a niche startup to a household name, can’t be overstated. Negotiating collectively will ensure that we’re able to grow with the company and get the most out of the work we do.” – Moira McCarthy, Driver at Imperfect Foods.

“UFCW Local 555 is a member-driven organization. All members at Imperfect Foods will have a voice in their contract from the start. The new members of 555 will be completing surveys for their upcoming contract negotiations to guide our worker-based Bargaining Committee. Our strength is in our members, and decades of experience fighting to improve workers’ lives. Now that the workers have voted to join the Union, we look towards scheduling dates for contract negotiations. We call on the employer to listen to the workers and bargain in good faith to create a contract that makes Imperfect Foods a great place to work for everyone.” – Miles Eshaia, UFCW 555 Communications Coordinator
