The Fred Meyer Division and UFCW Local 555 Bargaining Committees are pleased to announce that we have reached fully recommended tentative agreements on the expired Portland and Bend grocery and meat contracts: on all other Oregon and southwestern Washington grocery, meat, and non-food contracts, as well as agreements for the newly organized non-food units in Springfield and Grants Pass.

Tigard, Oregon –  UFCW Local 555 applauds Oregon’s Democratic candidate for Attorney General, State Rep. Dan Rayfield, for his recent commitment to protect consumers from systematic price gouging by big retailers. If elected, UFCW Local 555 is calling on him to investigate Fred Meyer (Kroger) for possible systematic price gouging on essential items purchased with WIC and SNAP benefits during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tigard, Oregon – After thousands of Fred Meyer grocery and meat department workers held an Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) strike, they returned to work as of 8:00 AM on Tuesday, September 3. UFCW 555 is now calling on the community to support workers by not shopping at Fred Meyer until a fair agreement is reached and Fred Meyer’s admitted price gouging has stopped.
