Bargaining Update – Bay Area Hospital: Union Secures Agreement on Grievance and Arbitration and Reinforced Seniority Rights

On Wednesday, March 19, and Thursday, March 20, your Bargaining Committee met for the second bargaining session for your Union contract for all members working at Bay Area hospital. During our second session we made further progress forward. We now have Tentative Agreements in more key areas.

On Wednesday, March 12, and Thursday, March 13, your Bargaining Committee began bargaining your Union contract for all members working at Bay Area hospital. During our first session we made some positive steps forward. We’ve achieved Tentative Agreements on some key areas.

On February 17th through February 21st, your Bargaining Committee held its second bargaining session.
Your Bargaining Committee made many more proposals throughout the week including standardization of language throughout the jurisdiction and improvements to: vacations, holidays, jury duty, required apparel including laundering, grievance procedures, bereavement leave, pension plan, weekly guarantee of hours, leaves of absence, and sick pay.

Bargaining Update – Unity Retail: Fully Recommended Tentative Agreements Reached for Safeway, Albertsons, Carrs, Rosauers, & Sherms

UFCW Local 555 is excited to announce that fully recommended tentative agreements have been reached for all grocery and meat contracts with Albertsons, Safeway, Rosauers and Sherms in Oregon and Southwestern Washington. Meetings will be scheduled to address the warehouse portions of our Sherms contracts in the coming weeks.

Oregon and SW Washington – After months of negotiations, members of UFCW Local 555 who work at Fred Meyer and QFC stores in Oregon and SW Washington have overwhelmingly voted to ratify a new 3-year contract.

The Fred Meyer Division and UFCW Local 555 Bargaining Committees are pleased to announce that we have reached fully recommended tentative agreements on the expired Portland and Bend grocery and meat contracts: on all other Oregon and southwestern Washington grocery, meat, and non-food contracts, as well as agreements for the newly organized non-food units in Springfield and Grants Pass.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, your Union Bargaining Committee met with representatives from Fred Meyer and Kroger to bargain over the Fred Meyer Non-Food employees in Springfield, Oregon who voted yes to join our Union and won their election in February.

Throughout July and August, despite making several proposals which clearly applied to both Fred Meyer and QFC, on August 23, the Employer changed their position and said they were no longer bargaining over QFC alongside Fred Meyer.
